Good Day Ms.Rodwell,
My name is Ramiro Buestan and I am nineteen years old. I am a former graduate of Aviation High School. Currently this is my second semester of my first year at City College. At this moment I am undeclared but my intended major is electrical engineering. I am interested in electrical engineering because I liked what I was learning when I was introduced to electrical circuits and systems at Aviation Highschool. The courses I received were called basic electricity 1,2, and advanced troubleshooting. Basically my highschool is a technical school that offers the chance of obtaining an airframe and powerplant license at the end of five years in order to work as a full time aircraft maintenance technician. The pandemic pushed this process back one year so I am still in the process of getting them.
At this point in life I have indeed thought about my short term and long term goals. I will begin with my short term goals. I would like to pass all my classes this semester while balancing my part time job. Another goal I have is to get my powerplant license from Aviation High School before summer begins. In the long term I would like to make sure that I get my airframe and powerplant license in order to start working as an aircraft maintenance technician. I also would like to graduate as an electrical engineer and apply that title into the aviation industry. Hopefully once that is done my long term goal of traveling the world can be started. On top of all this buying a house is in the books and of course starting a family. Apart from this I have a dream which is possible but will require some time. The dream is to start a business in Ecuador and be able to move there permanently. To achieve this dream I am going to have to first complete these other goals I have set forth, however in the end, it is only a dream.
Anyhow, the world of engineering is a totally different world full of possibilities. As technology advances, so will engineering. There will always be something new to learn. In addition, you will always need an engineer to make sure these technological innovations function properly. I believe that being an electrical engineer will allow me the possibility of finding a job wherever there needs to be troubleshooting and creativity involving electricity. Of course over time the ability to troubleshoot faults will be easier due to the advancement of technology but creativity is essential. All of this will in fact enable me to make sure that I advance in my position as an aircraft maintenance technician.
Sincerely,
Ramiro Buestan
